Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much does it cost to hire the hall?

A: Hall hire for parties is - £19.60 per hour for children’s parties – up to the age of 12, Adult Parties over 21 years of age are £24.00 per hour. The minimum hire is 2 hours. There is also a set up rate of £7.50 per hour for a maximum of 2 hours set up time (Rates valid for 2016). In addition we will need to hold a £100 security deposit for adult parties about 2 weeks before the event. You will be refunded as long as the hall is left clean and no damage has occurred. There is a higher security deposit for Parties that have a bar of £250.

Q: Are there any special rates?

A: Weddings - £155 for daytime to 5pm £260 for all day and evening
Committee Room only for small meeting is - £6.55 per hour.

Q: What is the capacity of the hall?

A: The main hall has a capacity of 120 seated or 200 standing. The committee room which can be used for small meetings has a capacity of between 20 and 30

Q: How many tables & chairs do you have?
A: We have 20x6'x2’ tables, 16 3’x2' tables and 10 5’ round tables. We have over 150 chairs. Please note we do not have any children’s tables or chairs.

Q: What is the size of the hall?

A: The main hall is approximately 13.6m (to the front of the stage) x 8.4 m and can be viewed Here or Here. There is a stage at the far end of the main hall measuring 6.3 wide by 3.7 m deep. There are also side extensions for the stage that can be placed either side of the stage to increase the width to the full width of the Hall.  

Q: What is the size of the Committee Room?
A: The Committee Room is approximately 8.4m x 3.2m and can be viewed Here or Here

Q: Do you have a kitchen?
A: the kitchen is equipped with a Fridge, 2 off cookers each with double ovens and 4 rings, auto-fill water boiler for large events and kettles for the odd cuppa! We have large and small teapots. There are plenty of cups, saucers and side plates, dinner plates and pudding bowls also some metal cutlery but nothing else. You can view the kitchen Here

Q: Can I view the venue before I book?
A: Yes you can arrange to view the Hall by phoning the Bookings Officer Sue Napper on the 2 numbers above.

Q: Do we have to clean up after our event?
A: Yes - the Hall should be left as you found it when you arrived. Tables & chairs put away floor clean and kitchen clean. There is a large Biffa bin to the rear of the Hall for depositing rubbish. All rubbish must be removed from the hall at the end of the booking and either deposited in this bin or taken away by the hirer.

Q: Is there a projector screen and microphones at the hall?
A: Yes both are available and should be requested at time of hire. The microphones are for use with our sound loop system only.
